What Loki is

Loki is a pet-health record and informational triage assistant for caregivers of small animals (dogs and cats). It helps you keep medical history, attachments, vaccinations, and notes in one place, and to share them by consent with veterinarians and other caregivers.

Loki is decision-support, not a medical device. The AI-triage feature, when enabled, is informational only. It does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace veterinary judgement. In any emergency, contact a veterinarian or an emergency clinic immediately.

Entscheidungsunterstützung, kein Medizinprodukt. In jedem Notfall: Tierarzt oder Notfallklinik kontaktieren.

03

Who can use Loki

  • You must be at least 16 years old to sign up.
  • One person, one account. You may not share your sign-in with anyone else; use the caregiver-invite flow for shared access.
  • You agree to provide accurate information about yourself and your pets. Loki cannot operate on falsified records.
  • You may use Loki for personal pet-health management or as a veterinary professional acting in your clinical capacity. Other commercial uses require a separate agreement.
04

Acceptable use

You may not:

  • Use Loki to harm, deceive, or impersonate another person.
  • Attempt to access records or accounts that are not yours except through Loki’s consent flow.
  • Scrape, mirror, or otherwise automate access to the service outside of the documented public APIs.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of any non-open-source portion of the service.
  • Upload content that infringes third-party rights or contains malware.
  • Use Loki to provide veterinary care without the appropriate professional qualifications and authorisations in your jurisdiction.
05

Ownership of pet records

You own the pet records you create. We process them on your instruction under the Data Processing Agreement (see the DPA).

When you share a record with a vet or another caregiver, that recipient becomes a co-controller of the data they receive, scoped to the consent grant you set. Your consent can be revoked at any time.

Veterinary clinics that use the vet surface of Loki operate as data controllers for the clinical records they ingest. The DPA at /legal/dpa applies between Loki and each clinic.

06

Liability and warranties

Loki is provided as is. We make no warranty that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Specifically:

  • No medical advice.Loki’s triage and SOAP output are not a substitute for professional veterinary judgement. Loki and KAI (the clinical-AI engine that powers Loki’s vet surface) are decision-support tools, not regulated medical devices.
  • No diagnostic guarantee. Differentials proposed by the AI may be incomplete or wrong. The clinician using the vet surface is the final decision-maker.
  • No data-availability guarantee. While we target high availability, the service may be unavailable during maintenance, outage, or force majeure. Where applicable law permits, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss.
  • No emergency hotline. Loki is not a replacement for emergency veterinary care. Call your local emergency clinic immediately if your pet is in acute distress.

The maximum aggregate liability of Loki for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or CHF 100, whichever is greater. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law (e.g. wilful misconduct, gross negligence).

07

Subscriptions, billing, cancellation

Loki has a free tier (one pet, basic features) and paid tiers with additional capacity (multiple pets, multiple caregivers, vet sharing, premium triage features). The current pricing is on the Pricing page.

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; the service continues until then.

Refunds are handled case-by-case. Contact hello@loki.vet within 14 days of charge if you believe a refund is warranted.

08

Termination by us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, abuse the service, defraud us or third parties, or if we are compelled to do so by law. We will give you at least 14 days’ notice unless the breach is so serious that immediate suspension is necessary (in which case we notify you as soon as practicable).

On termination by either side, your pet records remain available for export for 30 days. After that, deletion proceeds per the Privacy policy retention rules.

09

Changes to the service

We may change features, pricing, or these terms. Material changes will be announced in-app and via email at least 14 days before they take effect. If you do not agree with the changes, you may cancel before they take effect.

10

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Switzerland, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. The courts of Zürich, Switzerland, have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.

Before going to court, both sides agree to attempt good-faith resolution by direct communication. Contact hello@loki.vet.
